World Vision

World Vision exhibition tent at Wychwood Festival.

World Vision is the world's largest international children's charity, bringing real hope to millions of children in the world's hardest places.

Poverty, conflict and disaster leave millions of children living in fear. Fear of hunger and disease. Fear of violence, conflict and exploitation. Fear that robs them of a childhood. World Vision’s local staff work in thousands of communities across the world to free children from fear. They live and work alongside them, their families and communities to help change the world they live in for good.

World Vision are delighted to be partnering with Wychwood again this year and are excited to present an exciting interactive walk through experience called ‘Hope House’, designed to bring Africa to life. Festival goers will also have the opportunity to take part in ‘Calabash’ and be transported to Sierra Leone and hear remarkable and inspirational stories of children living in the world’s hardest places.

World Vision are delighted to announce that World Vision Artist Ambassador Paul Ewing will be performing at this year's Wychwood Festival off the back of his recent trip to see World Vision's work and meet his sponsored child in Cambodia. Hailed by Marcella Detroit as A modern-day Marvin Gaye, some may remember Paul from his various TV appearances such as Tikkabilla, Words and Pictures and BBC Radio's Something to Think About. Paul Ewing will also be joined by the incredible UK Soul Ensemble, whose members have collaborated with artists such as Whitney Houston, Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin and George Michael.

Back by popular demand, WV Artist Ambassador Elizabeth McGovern will also be performing with her band Sadie & The Hotheads following the release of the bands highly anticipated third album Still Waiting and special guest appearance to famed English super group Mike and the Mechanics on the 25th anniversary tour The Living Years. Elizabeth McGovern’s Sadie has received acclaim as infusing personality and charm... holding the centre stage with a warm mischievous smile, whilst her zany and often heartfelt lyrics defines the band’s idiosyncratic music.

The Hotheads, consist of veteran musicians including Simon Nelson (electric and acoustic guitar, dobro), Steve Nelson (acoustic guitar, bouzouki, banjo), Terl Bryant (Drums and percussion), Ron Knights (Bass), Nick Lacey (Piano, keyboards, penny whistle) and Danica Chapman (Backing vocals).

Thank you so much to all of you who took the decision to sponsor a child from Malawi, Uganda, India, Zambia and Senegal, as a result of visiting their stall at Wychwood. This Summer we look forward to adding more to the World Vision-Wychwood family!
