Big Top, Sunday 2016
Premiere garage rockers, Mystified challenge all expectations with their ferocious modern grunge. The band combine diverse influences, from surfy western riffs to heavy gained choruses. Three-piece punkabilly upstarts Mystified have burst on to the scene over the last year. They’re a hard band to miss, at times utilising maximum fist-to-the-air, backing-vocal heavy choruses, and at others weaving refrained, intricate western guitars.
With the garage-psych blend becoming almost the default of East-London gigs, it’s good to see a band so unashamedly break the mould. You’ll see no shoe-gazing at their shows, no silence between tracks or cool, pre-rehearsed stage persona, what you’ll get is an honest band playing furiously energetic rock n’ roll with a wink and a smile.
This band are one watch out for if you enjoyed Wolf Alice at Wychwood a few years ago!
