Sheila Tang is an experienced workshop and choir leader. Her workshops enable people to sing with others joyfully, learn some great songs and come away on a real high!

Scratch Gospel Choir Workshops

Beacon Gospel Choir will provide a series of gospel singing workshops then workshop attendees will then be invited on stage to perform with the choir in their Sunday performance. Workshop attendees will perform vocal warm-ups, before dividing into sections to learn some great gospel songs. In 2006, The Beacon Gospel Choir came together as a means of helping people to find their voices and to learn the joy of using them. It is the conviction of the founders of the Beacon Gospel Choir that everyone can sing. The Beacon Gospel Choir is a community choir united by a love of big harmonies, community spirit and classic Gospel goodness.

The Ukeholics will teach attendees at least three chords on the ukulele to enable you to play songs at the workshop and 1000s of others thereafter! The Ukeholics have been playing as a ukulele band for seven years. As well as performing and giving tutorial workshops, they also run The Ukulele Festival of Great Britain. This year the festival runs fromtoJune here in Cheltenham.

Writing Lyrics and Poetry with Chris Hemingway

Poet and singer song writer Chris Hemingway will teach you how to write lyrics for your songs, and/or poems. Chris is renowned for his darkly funny poetry and songs, and is the author of poetry collection Cigarettes and Daffodils and The Future – a novel.

MusicLab – Open Mic

MusicLab run open mic music sessions for all our festival goers who love to do just a little more than purely listen to music. Fancy an opportunity to actually play at the festival? Now's your chance! Guitars etc will be on hand to lend so come along and join in!

Situated in the Gloucester Guildhall, MusicLab have been running monthly open mic sessions for more than 12 years and it remains one of the most popular free music nights around. MusicLab have been involved in running the sessions at Wychwood since 2009 and every year proves to be hugely popular!
