Charlotte OC has parents with Malawi, Indian and Irish heritage and grew up in Blackburn, gaining a wide range of musical influences. She studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and soon signed a recording deal with Columbia Records in late 2008. Her debut single Treasure Island was released in 2011 along with her debut album For Kenny. Her tunes hint to influences including gospel, soul, house and electronic music and her favourite acts include Alicia Keys, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and Marvin Gaye.

In 2013 she made a shift to Stranger Records and released her first EP Colour My Heart. Soon Digital Spy named her “one to watch” and her second EP Strange was released by Polydor with the track Hangover being playlisted on BBC Radio 1. Her third EP, Burning followed and a second album is expected later this year.
