Once in every generation a band comes to prominence with the power to re-define a genre. A band for which there, quite simply, aren’t sufficient superlatives. They have the ability to hold an audience, as if spell-bound, with no more than a few simple chords. They are blessed with harmonious voices that can, simultaneously, melt women’s hearts and gird men’s loins. Their musical talents are beyond question and to be in the audience; at one of their gigs, is to be in the presence of genius. Sadly for Folk On, in their generation, that band is Mumford and Sons!
Still, after “bringing the Folk” to various festivals and venues all over the UK, they’re appearing at Wychwood Festival for the first time, so let’s give them a chance and try not to look too disappointed!
