Landshapes are a UK four piece band known primarily for their effects heavy psychedelic alternative rock. As their previous incarnation Lulu and the Lampshades, their name was misspelled Landshapes at a Paris venue. This mixup proved to be a happy accident that stuck as they moved further away from the playful well known viral cup song You’re Gonna Miss Me with over 3 million hits on YouTube and counting and towards a bolder, experimental approach. They’ve undergone a considerable musical metamorphosis bringing together ramshackle percussion with folk-pop melodies and joyous harmonies.
They hit the studio in the back end of 2011 and recorded their debut full-length album Rambutan, which appeared in 2013 on U.K. indie label Bella Union. The band are due to release their second in May, just in time for Wychwood!
