Dave’s Stage (Main Stage), Saturday 2015

Object Object

Object Object are a fresh, Brighton-based band, fronted by Aimee Montague (vocals) and Bertie Morris (bass). Influenced by bands such as The Cure, Blondie and The Horrors, they create catchy new-wave songs mixed with contemporary indie-pop and menacing shoegaze-driven guitar. After their first gig with Traams, Object Object have gone on to support the likes of The Other Tribe, The Magic Gang, Telegram, Girl Band, Hospitality, Hooton Tennis Club and PINS as well as performing at Roundhouse Rising Festival (DIY Presents), JAWS club night and The Alternative Escape.

On record, they drive new wave into unfamiliar territory, nodding to the ‘80s without creating an outright homage. Live, it’s all about a frenetic, all-encompassing build.

Their track I Was Blind was included on BBC 6 Music’s Introducing Mixtape and played regularly on Juice 107.2. Their latest release, Bones, was produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey/Eels).

Atmospheric, moody music that belies their years. Think sparkly yet conscientious indie with a nod to 80′s gothic pop and a wink to MBV era shoegaze.
