Chris Smee

Hobgoblin Stage: Saturday + Wychwood FM Stage: Sunday 2016

Chris Smee

The instantly recognisable sound of 18 year old Chris Smee has taken the music industry by storm. Dubbed as the southwest's Ed Sheeran, Chris has been playing in bands since the age of 8, Chris first picked up the guitar when the violin course at his school was full, from then on he never looked back. After playing in 5 bands previously with moderate regional success, Chris exploded onto the mainstream UK music scene in 2015 with the release of his debut solo EP Identity.

Originally inspired by British acts like Busted and McFly and more now influenced by worldwide acts like Ed Sheeran and Deaf Havana. The collection of 5 tracks based on real life experiences from Chris’ teenage years has so far received critical acclaim since it's release.

Chris’ real life tracks combined with his cheeky on stage presence have proven to be a winner with performances at venues including Kensington Roof Gardens in London and various radio roadshows and regional festivals around the UK. 2016 looks set to be Chris’ most exciting year yet with a national schools tour, release of his new EP Ability and a number of festival slots in the UK and further afield.

Chris was selected to play at Wychwood after playing at our Wychwood Sessions gigs earlier this year.
