Keston Cobblers Club
Sam’s Stage (Main Stage), Sunday 2016
What a fantastic discoveryBob Harris
Keston Cobblers Club began when Matt from the band stumbled across a rather peculiar but ingenious tale of a Cobbler who had lived locally a couple of hundred years ago. He had played the violin in the local tavern, to lament the sadness of the lack of business coming in. Soon, villagers from all around had joined him to make music and dance. Then, hey-presto
–all that dancing made people’s shoes wear out! The Cobbler was pretty chuffed. Matt liked the Cobblers story, so the band was born.
The band played at Wychwood in their early days, back in 2012. Since then the band have gone on to play numerous other festivals, sell out tours and play several sessions for the BBC. We love their latest album and can’t wait to see them again at the festival on the Sunday afternoon.
