Peter Hook & The Light

Dave’s Stage (Main Stage), Friday 2016

Peter Hook & The Light

Back in 2010, Peter Hook, legendary bassist of Joy Division and New Order, decided to honour the outstanding work of his first band and the undoubted genius of the late Ian Curtis by giving people the opportunity to hear both of Joy Division's masterpiece albums: Unknown Pleasures and Closer, live and in their entireties; backed by his new band The Light. In order to celebrate the life of Ian, one stand alone sold out night quickly became two, and due to phenomenal worldwide demand, Hooky then began taking the show on the road with headline gigs and major festival appearances. Tours soon followed throughout Europe and all over the world, playing Joy Division and New Order songs to adoring fans.

Over the past few years, Hooky has been joined on stage by musical superstars including Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell and Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan. Last Summer the band played at several major festivals including Bestival, Camp Bestival, The Hop Farm, Lounge on the Farm, the Stockton Weekender, Bearded Theory and Playtime Festival in Ulaanbaatar.

We are delighted to welcome Peter to Wychwood on the Friday night to play all the hits from his time with Joy Division and New Order.
