Jo Cotterill

Appearing: Story Box, 2019

Jo Cotterill

Jo Cotterill is not only a great author now but also an actor, musician and teacher too. Her magical stories include Looking at the Stars and Library of Lemons, which was second only to J K Rowling in the Berkshire Book awards. Her brilliant Electrigirl series has wowed Wychwood audiences and this year Jo's bringing us her new book Jelly, a warm feel-good story about taking a leap of faith when life feels wobbly. Jelly has been nominated for the CILIP CARNEGIE MEDAL 2019 and has been chosen as a 2019 Read for Empathy book.

Angelica – known as Jelly to her friends – is the life and soul of the classroom. Quick to pick up voices, she loves doing impressions of her teachers to make everyone laugh. Even the teachers can’t be cross with her for long!

Actually, Jelly isn’t quite as bubbly as she pretends - she's grown good at keeping her self-esteem issues to herself. When circumstances give her an opportunity to show her true self, the question arises – Is it wise to show people what you're like on the inside? Isn't it better to carry on pretending to be someone you know people like?

Jo’s events are always fantastic, fast and energetic and everybody is welcome so do expect to join in the marvelous fun.
