Loophole

oophole are a new, exciting band on the local music scene. All 5 members are 16/17 years old and attend schools across Cheltenham, Stroud and Malmesbury. They are thrilled to be playing at Wychwood this year. The band started out performing high energy pop rock covers and moved swiftly on to writing their own material. They have two songs out on Spotify already with more planned for later this year.

Their original material is characterised by catchy guitar riffs with a jazz blues edge and the powerful vocal talent of Romey Smogur. Loophole were noticed at a Battle of the Bands competition in Stroud back in 2024 where they emerged winners and went on to win a Wiltshire Battle of the bands competition last summer. Since then, they've grown their audience by playing at local festivals, pubs and gigs across the region.

This year, their focus is on playing festivals and new venues over the summer and bringing their sound to a new audience before getting back in the recording studio later this year. Two of the band are currently in the middle of GCSEs with the other three focussing on A level mock exams. A busy year! Romey is joined by Harry Duffy and Will Fletcher on guitar, Bron Mann on bass and Louis Flanders bringing it all together on drums.
