Inspiral Carpets

That swirling organ sound means one thing: Madchester is coming to Cheltenham.

Formed in Oldham in 1983, Inspiral Carpets were right at the heart of the baggy scene alongside The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. Fun fact: a young Noel Gallagher got his first job in music as their roadie.

Over almost 40 years they've racked up 14 Top 40 singles and four Top 10 albums. There's This Is How It Feels, Saturn 5, Dragging Me Down, Joe, and I Want You with the late Mark E. Smith. Clint Boon's Farfisa organ is still front and centre, and original bassist Martyn Walsh is back in the band.

Now a full-time band again, they're playing bigger shows than they have in years, including a co-headline tour with The Wonder Stuff this autumn.

Cow T-shirts at the ready. It's going to be a good one.
