Reverend & The Makers
Sam’s Stage (Main Stage), Friday 2027
Few bands love a festival crowd like Reverend & The Makers, and few frontmen work one quite like Jon McClure.
The Sheffield band burst out in 2007 when Heavyweight Champion Of The World went top ten, followed by He Said He Loved Me and Open The Window. Their mix of indie guitars, dance beats and a bit of Madchester swagger has kept them filling rooms ever since, with Jon often throwing his own poems into the set between songs.
In 2023, Heatwave In The Cold North became their first top ten album since their debut. They marked 20 years together with a homecoming show for 30,000 people in Sheffield, then released their eighth album, Is This How Happiness Feels?, in 2026. Jon calls it the best thing they've ever done, and it leans into warm, vintage soul. It includes Haircut, featuring actress Vicky McClure.
Old favourites and new tunes, and plenty of bouncing from the front to the back.
