May Newsletter
Welcome to our latest news
Just over a week to go until our 15th Birthday Celebrations and, as you can imagine, we're pretty excited here at Wychwood HQ! Here's our latest newsletter including final line-up announcements, information about our healers and the latest ticket information.
Artists and Bands
We're adding more bands to our already considerable array of acts…
First of all, The Battle of the Bands competition, run by our friends at Witney Music festival, has come to a thrilling end and we can now announce the winners who'll be opening the festival on Friday. The White Lakes are an outstanding indie rock guitar band from Oxford. We were impressed by their powerful sound and energy and think they really could be the next big thing.
Also on the Main Stage on Friday, we have Talk in Code, a four-piece group who have just released their second album. They've played alongside acts such as Catfish & the Bottlemen and My Life Story and we're looking forward to sampling their sleek indie sound.
The Main Stage on Saturday is going to get the Rusty Shackle treatment. If you've never seen this band, be prepared for rampant fiddle, electric guitar, trumpet and banjo, playing an edgy folk roots mix.
On our Hobgoblin Stage on Sunday, there are a couple more acts to introduce to you. Described as a ‘one man orchestra’, we're delighted to welcome singer-songwriter George Montague. He's an ingenious multi-instrumentalist, using live-looping and beat-boxing to add to the richness of his sound. We've also got Birmingham alternative rock band Evade Escape, bringing huge melodies and massive riffs together with experience from touring and festival appearances including Glastonbury.
By the way, Sunday is officially dressing up day!
Our theme this year is NAUTICAL so come as anything on, in or under the sea. We look forward to seeing pirates, surfers, mermaids, sailors, sharks, lobsters, squid … the world's your oyster!
Wychwood FM Stage and Bandstand
