The workshops of Wychwood!
There is so much more to Wychwood than the amazing music!
Over our 15 year history the festival has provided a multitude of activities for all ages and while there's lots for kids it isn't a children's area - there really is something for all ages.
We love it when families participate together – especially if it's something they wouldn't normally have the chance (or maybe the confidence) to try. Belly Dance? Charleston? Brazilian Capoeira? Even Line Dancing!
Speaking of dancing you can warm up for Sophie Ellis-Bexter headlining on Friday with Family Boogie and Disco Fever dance workshops – prepare your moves and wow the crowd in the evening!
Like singing? Mix history and harmony with Jenny Sansom's singing sessions - folk songs that tell of social change.
Kids will be entranced with The Great Green Planet Show and the mystifying Magic Show. Or go deeper with interactive storytelling where you become part of the tale with Kindred Spirits.
Over 5 venues there is a massive choice of activities to engage with, right through the day – we don't know of another festival the size of Wychwood with as much going on.
Want to be entertained by World Class Street Theatre? Witness Goldie Fiasco, Dan The Hat, Mr. Wow and international hula hooper Angie Mack.
Prefer to get hands-on? The Arts & Crafts tent offers over 15 craft activities including Rod Puppet Making, Still Life Drawing, Material Crafts, Enamelling and more – something to engage everyone!
We welcome back Aardman Animation – Jim, an experienced model maker, will teach you how to make Shaun, Gromit or Feathers to take home with you.
Our workshops organiser Jem Maynard Watts says
It's a pleasure to bring together an eclectic and inclusive programme for the festival. Each year my highlight is seeing so many happy faces and families engaging with the arts, whether it's together or spread over the 5 dedicated venues.
