Cheltenham Racecourse

Useful Information for Festival Attendees

Before You Leave/When You Arrive

Please check your tickets before you leave home. All rolled over tickets from postponed years will be valid with the ages purchased.

When packing for the festival, don’t pack any high value items if you can help it. Wychwood is a very safe festival but there is no reason to tempt fate!

We obviously, as always, take your security very seriously and we will be carrying out our essential checks, so please be patient with us if we ask to search your bags, etc.

Our Box Office opens at 9.30am each day, and closes at 10pm. The campsite on Friday will be open from 9.30am and The Festival Village opens by 12 noon. When you arrive at Cheltenham Racecourse, head up the main drive, festival which will be signposted.

If you are camping, you will be directed straight over to the campsite to set up your camping BEFORE you get your wristbands. You will then be directed back to the car pack, and then you can go to the box office to get your wristbands.

If camping, please unload your car as soon as you can at the drop-off points and take your car back to the car park – we’ve got to keep you moving so everyone can get on. All parking for day and weekend customers is free.

Back at the Box Office you will be issued with your wristbands, and you can purchase programmes or pick up preordered programmes.

Please remember that no alcohol, glass or food may be brought into the Festival Village and no glass on the campsite – this is part of our license conditions, and will not be allowed through the gate. You may take your own food and drink onto the campsite, just not in glass containers.

Campsites, Toilets And Showers

Family, Disabled, and General camping areas are available. Facilities are situated within camping areas apart from the overspill campsite, which is not far from other campsite facilities. Accessible toilets are situated within the festival arena, accessible camping area and near the campsite hub. A charging hub for wheelchair charging is located in the accessible campsite in a white marquee. Showers are located with the campsite. Please do not attempt to turn off generators or lights. Strictly no solid fuel fires, barbeques or stoves allowed. Gas cooking appliances are only to be used within camping areas and not inside of tents.

The campsite is located within the inner racecourse, please respect the grounds by not climbing on the fences or hurdles and do not drive on any grass areas unless specifically instructed to do so. Please take extra care when packing away your tents and ensure all tent pegs have been removed. No generators or large sound systems permitted on site, if you want to party please head to the arena!

We are operating the festival almost cash free this weekend, but cashback will be available at the bars if need be. Please note: The Headphone Disco operates on a £10 cash deposit system, please bring this with you if you’d like to use the Headphone Disco.

We will be providing a free Property Lockup service at the campsite hub where festivalgoers can leave any valuables, rucksacks, wallets, musical instruments, bicycles, flea circuses – anything else you want to keep safe while you enjoy the festival. You can also get your phone charged at the Lockup for a £1 fee. The Lockup will be open 24 hours a day from 12 noon on the Friday until 10am Monday, so you can leave and pick up your belongings at 3am when the lockups crew will be particularly delighted to see you! Please don’t leave valuables in tents.

First Aid

There will be first aid onsite to help anyone in need. If it's non-urgent and you need first aid, please go to the Merchandise and StoryBox tent (near the main entrance to the festival) and they will direct you to the first aid point. On the campsite, go to the Campsite Hub or ask a steward/security for help and directions.

If it is urgent, please speak to any member of the stewarding/security team who will be able to assist further OR call 999. If you have called 999 then please let someone know so we can direct the emergency services to the appropriate person.

Chairs In The Arena

If you want to bring chairs into the arena please only place them at the back edges, to allow room for those who want to dance closer to the stage. The Arena only has so much capacity so we need everyone to respect others for space. NO GAZEBOs to be bought into the arena. During headline performances please pack away chairs to allow room for other guests.

Missing/Found Children And Belongings

Your children and belongings are your responsibility at all times. However, if you have a missing/found a child please speak to the nearest steward/security guard.
