For those of you that are good with your hands or wanting to rescue a creative soul then look no further than Forest! An amazing selection of creative workshops offering you the chance to learn contemporary creative craft. Make your own festival hat, discover the art from recycling, build your own time machine and more.

With over 15 workshops to choose from there is bound to be something to inspire all ages. So come and join us if you want to have some fun using your imagination.

Time Travelling Toby

Time Travelling Toby and the Battle Of Trafalgar. In this action packed workshop journey back to 1805 and find yourself helping the British Navy defeat the French and Spanish in an exciting adventure. Join children’s author, Graham Jones for a reading from the book, an exciting visual presentation and a building session where you will build your very own time machine. This is an event not to be missed and whilst the books are targeted at 4-8 year olds the event is suitable for all ages.

Making its debut appearance at Wychwood, the BrilliantBuilds workshop will be encouraging wildlife lovers of all ages to come along and make wonderful masks out of recycled materials! Do you know what lives in the woods!? Come along and find out how wild and wonderful the woodland world really is!

We will be producing a visual cartoon diary of the festival. 3 Big boards will be gradually covered over the weekend with your caricatures and anything else that catches our eye or amuses us!

Fantastic Festival Hats

Fantastic Hats

To create your own fantastic festival hat, you will start off with paper and card, then you will fold it, scrunch it, rip it, weave it, twist it, cut it, then really let your imagination run riot by decorating it with a range of materials including bright coloured carrier bags, tissue paper, buttons and beads. Pop it on your head and parade it around for everyone to admire!

Willow Weaving

Come and make a willow spiral birdfeeder to hang at home, or why not make a platted willow snail? With our extra flexible willows, you will find it easy to make your own item to take away. The workshops are suitable for beginners, birdfeeders can be made in 20 minutes and snails in 35 minutes.

Collage in a Box

Collage in a Box.

Create an imaginative collage-in-a-box using a variety of recyclable materials. Using your box as a frame, you will create your own pictures with wool, paper, foil and material. Don't forget, if you find something interesting around the festival site that you would like to use in your collage, bring it along!

Games

Various family friendly games.

Various family friendly board games like, Dobble, Jungle Speed Safari, Timeline, Dixit, Colt Express, Looney quest and others.

Giant Butterflies and Bugs

Let your imagination run riot and have a go at making a giant colourful butterfly or bug using a variety of materials, like tissue paper, plastic bags, wire, coloured cellaphane and bubble wrap. Once made, you can parade it around the festival and then hang it up on your tent!

Papier Mache Tree

We will be encouraging people to use their creative and fine motor skills to create wire/papier mâché trees which will eventually become a ‘festival tree’.

Maps of the Imagination

Upcycling old maps into pictures and frames, papercraft suitable and adaptable for all ages.

Printing

Try your hand at printing your own designs.

Wiggly Wychwood Wonders

Make these curvaceous creatures to wave in the carnival—Big and bold and fun to hold and wave about.

Recycled Rascals

Recycle your shopping bags into inspiring rustly crinkly creatures.

Fairy and Dinosaur Wings

Join in some crafty fun making dinosaur and fairy wings!

Knit-Wits

We have lots of wool! There will be a chance to knit, crochet, make pom-poms, or come and make a woolly disguise! Suitable for boys and girls of all ages.

Enamelling

Design and make your own piece of jewellery using glass enamels kiln fired on copper. Then turn it into your choice of pendant, brooch, set of earrings or keyring.

Messy Jessys Shakers

Use your imagination to make an individual artistic musical instrument from recycled materials.
